TRANSLATION
Generally, our translation quotes include Translation + Editing, as no translation work can respond to high quality standards without a proper revision by another professional. We follow a strict plan, which allows us to always match high client expectations.
EDITING/PROOFREADING
The Editing/Proofreading process is carried out by an experienced linguist with deep and extensive knowledge in the target language. This service entails reading through the translated text, comparing it with the original version and making the necessary changes to improve the readability, flow and overall quality of its writing. When Editing/Proofreading, we may even rewrite entire sentences if deemed necessary. The final result must be a fluent text with no spelling/grammatical errors or misconstructions, portrayed as originally written for the target language.
TRANSCRIPTION
We convert any audiovisual content into text – and translate it upon request – always with the extreme care and attention to detail that shapes us.
LSO (LINGUISTIC SIGN-OFF)
This service is performed using the final support of the text (PDF, video, web page, etc.) and also by comparing it with its original version, in the same support. We visually review the document or product in order to spot and fix all possible bugs or errors that were entered during the DTP (Desktop Publishing) process. This service is intended to remediate the final version of errors such as layout issues, mistranslation of titles, wrong cross-references within the document, hyphenation issues, tables of contents inconsistencies, etc. that usually can’t be detected in the previous phases.
SUBTITLING
In many countries, subtitling is the preferred method to overcome the linguistic barriers in audiovisual content, being highly rooted in the audiovisual culture. However, subtitling and conventional translation are quite different, and not every language professional is suited for this type of job.
When completing a subtitling task, we take care to follow every specificity this type of work requires, not only at a linguistic level, but also concerning other aspects such as reading speed, onscreen space or timing, always focused on delivering the most accurate transmission of your content message
